I’ve been a college town resident for a little over a year now and have had enough of the excuses. This year they raised our rent claiming “they were saving for new security”. Our lease clearly states that we should be in a gated community with a strong security system. First of all, “gated community” those gates have NEVER been closed. The security system is so horrible that so many residents are investing their own money into getting their own ring doorbells, security cameras, and taking other precautions. At my house we have had a security incident in which we needed the cameras in order to press charges and were unable to get any good information from them. Half the houses are not even visible on the tapes. Instead of wasting money buying pool furniture and pillows for the clubhouse we should have been investing into the residents safety. Multiple cars have been damaged, houses broken into, windows broken, guns brought i , stabbing, fights, the list goes and on. All of these damages are covered by residents as we can’t get a clear video of the offender/offending parties. After a weekend full of guns , robbery, fights, and cops, it should no longer fall on us to clean up their mess. It’s time for a change.
