Current UKY doctoral regalia has large white logos placed directly over the breasts and brings unwanted attention to that area. It distracts from a celebration of intellect, resilience, and academic achievement while making people uncomfortable on a day that should be filled with pride. Since this regalia is required in order to attend commencement, it puts people in a difficult situation. We want UKY to update the design now to be more gender inclusive. Something as simple as positioning one smaller logo in a higher placement would be an improvement. Since regalia updates are coming up, we want to bring this issue to the attention of the commencement committee as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!
