82.4% of Canadians are considered to be fully vaccinated, which is significantly higher than other countries in North America.

While there is 17.6% who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, EVERYONE in Canada has the right to be able to travel within Canada via train or plane, as well as the right to leave Canada with the right to return to Canada. The survival rate is 94-99%, and the virus is here to stay.

While safety measures can and are still being followed by most, it does not make sense to punish those who chose to and/or may not be able to take the vaccine(s).

We all went through 2020-2022 together, we all have the right to live our lives, and should not have to jump through hoops to do so.

I'm a healthcare worker who chose not to be vaccinated for personal and medical reasons, and I am exhausted...

This is from the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms:

"Mobility rights
Section 6
protects the mobility rights of Canadian citizens which include the right to enter, remain in, and leave Canada. Citizens and Permanent Residents have the ability to move to and take up residence in any province to pursue gaining livelihood."

This is the policy from the Ministry of Transportation:

"Mandatory vaccination to board
If you’re 12 years of age plus 4 months, or older, you’ll need to be fully vaccinated in order to board:

domestic or international flights departing from most airports in Canada, including charter and foreign airlines carrying commercial passengersMedevac flights are excluded, regardless of where they depart or land
Private flights that don't require access to airports with a vaccination requirement are excluded
VIA Rail, AMTRAK, White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad (WP&YR), and Rocky Mountaineer trains."

I have contacted Air Canada and their response to my question regarding the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was that the Ministry of Transportation policy currently overrules the Charter.

I ask that the Ministry of Transportation get rid of this policy, and that airlines comply with the Charter or Rights and Freedoms.

ALLOW EVERYONE TO TRAVEL.
