The University of North Texas slogan is "We Mean Green". While UNT claims to "mean green" as an "environmentally conscious" university, we still have disposable food packaging overflowing from our trash cans on a daily basis. 

We are demanding our university stops allowing businesses on campus to sell their products in styrofoam containers. This material cannot be recycled in Denton. Thus, we are contributing unnecessarily to environmental degradation through landfill expansion.  

This shift from styrofoam to recyclable plastic cups and boxes for Chick-Fil-A and Fuzzy's is the first step in a transition towards a waste-free student union, which is what it should have been from the start.
