Planet Earth started this petition to UNSW Law

Due to the mistake undertaken by UNSW Law, students are being forced to resit the final examination for the Business Associations Course (LAWS1091), meaning their initial exam which took place on the 3rd of November 2018 will be DISCARDED.

This has already had significant impacts on the lives of countless students. Students will now be forced to undertake a take-home assessment after final exams have completed. The faculty has deemed this solution 'appropriate', and demand students to sit a supplementary exam if they cannot complete the 'new' take-home assessment.

Needless to say, the mental health impacts on students will be severe. How about the students that have trips planned, or surgeries, or family matters, or anything of the sort? What if they cannot undertake the take home exam, or be available for the supplementary exam period? What then?

It is unbelievable how the faculty did not think of a more equitable solution: allow students to be given the option to partake in this take-home assessment, mark both the exam and take-home, and give students the highest mark of either assessment.

The actions of UNSW Law have been inappropriate, as students have not been consulted throughout this process. It is unfathomable how a 'reputable' university can cause such chaos and have students pay the price for the university's mistake.
