RHS has been locking gender-neutral bathrooms over fear of vandalism, especially with the increase in the 'devious licks' trend. But the problem is there have been numerous complaints that are cast aside, and the damages are almost all in the binary, specifically boys, bathrooms. Meaning the trans and queer students at our school are paying the consequences for the actions of the cisgender students. The only unlocked ones are on the first floor in the main office and next to the entrance. Both extremely out of the way, considering almost all classes are located on second and third floors. I've been walking 3 flights of stairs to use the correct bathroom every day and so have other students. Using the binary bathrooms simply isn't an option for some and transgender students shouldn't be suffering the consequences of their peers.
