- Most of us have at least one family member or friend who suffers from mental health. In the coronovirus times, we all may be suffereing from some form of anxiety, depression or mental distress.
Mental health is extremely important, it should be funded completely by the government. We should have a fully funded mental health System within the NHS. We need a mental health system that gives therapy as the first line of treatment for mental health. Medication based treatments should be given as a second line treatment and/or combined with therapy treatments.
Countries such as Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Austria fully fund therapy treatments under their national health Systems. Anyone in Britain should have unlimited, quick access free treatment options under the NHS, including:
Psychoanalytic therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, group psychoanalytic al therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy.
There is a severe need to have mental health hospitals with: day clinics, full stay clinics, and emergency clinics. These structures already exist under other countries national health Systems. We can do better! We should do better! We de serve better !
