Lauren Tyler started this petition to University West of England and

A huge part of mental health involves isolation and a sense of loneliness. As university students many of us are away from home and need that extra support we would normally have if we were home. This loneliness can cause serious mental health problems as without having people around you and someone to talk to you can often fall into a very low place.
When dealing with mental health many people in University may resort to self-harm to reduce their pain. This is because they need to relieve the overwhelming feelings they are having. During COVID people with mental health may be feeling forgotten about. In the most severe cases mental health deterioration could lead to suicide.
Many students work to get themselves through university. Due to COVID there has been many furloughed. This paired with assessments online could lead to a student feeling very overwhelmed with stress.

Our main purpose is to raise awareness and bring support to these struggling students at this difficult time. Having more support at University will create a healthy environment.
