Frostburg State University President Ronald Nowaczyk has consistently displayed a lack of leadership amid the coronavirus pandemic, and prior to, as well. During his tenure, an exceedingly high turnover rate has been experienced in the faculty/staff of the University, faculty and student morale has fallen dramatically, and enrollment has declined.

However, President Nowaczyk's failures during the coronavirus pandemic are his worst. After making the decision to hold hybrid courses which require in-person attendance, he decided to begin the semester two weeks early without a shred of student input, though the decision greatly impacts us. The lack of testing infrastructure for returning students is of significant concern, which Nowaczyk does not seem to recognize. This ultimately prompted SGA President Noah DeMichele to send a letter to Governor Larry Hogan in a hail mary attempt to secure the testing capacity needed. Under Nowaczyk's leadership, students have reported waiting over a month for response emails related to the CARES Act, on-campus housing, and requests to take online courses due to medical concerns.

For these reasons and many more, the student body of Frostburg State University sign this petition of No Confidence. Indeed, we find President Nowaczyk to be an inadequate leader who makes decisions which are detrimental to our university, our campus community, and to the reputation of our institution.
