After a weekend of laundry chaos at Halifax College, and with no end in sight to the current laundry debacle, we call for an end to the poor contracting out of laundry services at the university. 

Circuit Laundry manage the university's on-campus washing facilities. They charge extortionate fees, at around £5 for a wash and dry. Their customer service is appalling, with service level agreements meaning that they only have to respond within 48 hours.

By contracting out, the university is able to turn a blind eye to the poor deal that students are receiving. There is no rationale for this contracting out. We call on the University of York to provide its own laundry services and accept responsibility for providing these basic services to students across campus. 

It is time to stop Circuit Laundry ruining our plans, our clothes and our student experience. It is time for the university to take back control of laundry. #MakeLaundryGreatAgain.
