Closing UWA Publishing would add to the number pf daft things which UWA has done over the past decade. Your are going down the gurgler, whatever your own KPIs indicate. There is more to a University than making a financial profit. Many universities would give their eye teeth to have the own publisher.

This is so shortsighted and badly affects those trying to publish community works

UWAP is a vital institution and its disbanding will impoverish publishing and literature in our country. We cannot accept that the written word has lost value. We must preserve this at all costs.

Disbanding UWAP would be a terrible, short-sighted decision, representing a slight on university culture and a victory for short-sighted bean-counters. It cannot be allowed!

The short sightedness of leaders who operate as "managers" rather than custodians are laying waste to the essential cultural landscape of Australia

Because it would be foolish to discard all of the wonderful community connections which have been forged over the years...you will never get them back.

I'm signing this to support my friends and to show the respect I have for all the authors who've worked hard with the University to produce great reading.

Thanks for adding your voice.

I've relied on the integrity of UWAP as well as the recommendations for titles. How can this short-sighted thought bubble be contemplated. Poor decision to affect priorities of a a well-endowed significant Australian University.
