Ban White Supremacists Richard Spencer and Jason Kessler from University of Virginia

Richard Spencer and Jason Kessler brought violence to University of Virginia ("UVA" or "University") grounds on August 12, 2017, resulting in UVA student being beaten, maced, assaulted, and threatened. One Charlottesville resident was murdered off campus relating to this same event organized by Mr. Spencer and Mr. Kessler. There is no Constitutional right to assault, or violence. Additionally, as alumnae of the esteemed academic institution University of Virginia, Mr. Spencer and Mr. Kessler are obliged to carry out their actions while on University grounds in a lawful manner, observing all University regulations and policies. Mr. Spencer and Mr. Kessler are also obligated to refrain from any activity which would interfere with the education and matriculation of current UVA students, as well as the safe performance of duties by UVA employees and staff. The rally organized by Mr. Spencer and Mr. Kessler interfered with the academic endeavors of UVA students. For failing to comply with UVA regulations and policy, for bringing violence to the UVA campus, and for their interference with UVA students, faculty and staff in pursuing their mission and goals of the institution, Richard Spencer and Jason Kessler shall be banned from grounds. This petition is supported by the undersigned University of Virginia students, alumnae, parents of students and alumnae, family and friends, and those who oppose bigotry and racial discrimination.
