Tucker Benton started this petition to University of Virginia APMA department

The current style of teaching employed in the ODE curriculum makes it very difficult to learn the subject material. This is because the current method expects us to develop the methods without showing us any examples of how it's normally done, and while some explanation by the instructor helps, this by no means makes up for the lack of clear explanation and example provided by either detailed notes or a comprehensive lecture. We are simply asking for one, or both of two things.

A), Post full notes of the solutions and explanations of solutions after the worksheets are completed, so we can check to see how it is done correctly in the case that we make an error in our worksheets, as it is new material given to us with very little instruction.

B) Post optional lectures that correspond with where we are in the class. Some people need detailed verbal explanation to figure things out, and students should have all the information possible to learn the subject material, as that is the entire goal of a class. Recorded lectures also make it easier to go back to specific sections students need assistance with and makes for more efficient learning.

Thank you for your time, and please consider our request.
