Blaize McGovern started this petition to University of Victoria

The University of Victoria is allowing for the use of the Respondus lock down browser for exams. This browser blatantly disregards the security and integrity of students personal laptops in many ways, including these:

- Anti-Virus is sometimes required to be turned off to install - It has kernel level access to personal computers. Meaning it has more power than an administrator has

- It's not compatible with many operating systems. Windows 10S, Linux or any older Windows/MacOS version

- It edits the registry and sometimes does not clean it back up. Causing massive performance and usability issues with the computer even after uninstalling it

- It's closed sourced software. No third party can verify it's integrity

The use of lock down browsers are meant for in person exams with in person invigilators NOT online.
