It has been announced and decided that the BIOB11 course (molecular aspects of cellular and genetic processes) midterm and exams will be held in-person this semester. However, we feel that this is unfair because the whole course is being delivered online and asynchronously. We, as (mostly) second year students that have been doing online exams ever since we got accepted to UTSC, feel that this is uncalled for and unnecessary seeing that covid cases are still surging. We are still concerned about covid and are not comfortable to have in-person exams. In addition, we are not properly prepared and not adapted to in-person exams especially if the lectures are delivered online and asynchronously. It is also a huge inconvenience for those of us that are international or are in different provinces and cannot physically come to campus just for exams. We pay far too much tuition to not be able to choose our method of education delivery, and we feel that BIOB11 exams and midterms should be moved online. We hope that our voices will be heard.
