Alexander Krabill started this petition to University of Toledo Students

As a result of changes to the University of Toledo's budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year, the administration has recently considered reducing funding for sustainability projects, including cutting funding for the recycling program. We understand the difficulties of balancing budgets when financial resources are limited and no blame should be put on the administration. However, as students, we believe sustainability is a priority and we would like to show our administration just how much we as a Student body support sustainability at the University of Toledo.

Sustainability means both "eco-friendliness" and a lack of wasteful spending. The University of Toledo has innumerable projects that it could take up to not only reduce waste and reduce carbon emissions on campus but also save money long-term.

The University could save on bigger projects like 1) installing a solar field with solar panels we already own and 2) establishing a composting system on campus to save on landfill costs. The University could also save on smaller projects like 3) installing hand dryers in all bathrooms and 4) installing low water flow aerators to save water from being needlessly wasted.

We need to explain to the administration that sustainability is a priority among the Student Body at the University of Toledo. Support this petition if you support the University of Toledo increasing its sustainability spending for student and faculty sustainability projects for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year and establishing a tradition of sustainability well beyond the upcoming academic year!
