Noeline Taurua has left an indelible impact on the Sunshine Coast region. As the inaugural coach of the Coast's first national sporting team The Sunshine Coast Lightning, Noels has not only lead the team to three straight grand finals and two championships, (making Lightning the most successful start up national sporting team in Australia's history), but has provided inspiration for people of all ages.

Noeline's New Zealand origins, a country which has historically been a strong rival to Australia in international netball, has provided no barrier. In fact, Noeline has left such a strong mark on the Australian netball community that when she led New Zealand to a shock victory over Australia in the world cup, many Australians were happy for her success.

The Sunshine Coast people deserve a permanent reminder of Noel's impact in her three years with the Sunshine Coast Lightning club, and Noel's deserves a permanent epitaph to her success and her greatness.

This petition is to have an almost life size bronze bust be erected on a concrete column outside of USC Stadium in Sippy Downs, the home of the Sunshine Coast Lightning. This will act as a permanent reminder of the historic impact that Noeline Taurua has had on the Sunshine Coast region, the Australian national netball scene, and indeed the entire netball community.

Come on USC, Melbourne Storm and Sunshine Coast Council, let's celebrate Noel's and memorialise her historic impact on the Sunshine Coast Lightning!
