UT needs to provide free dietitian appointments to improve UT student body health

The University of Texas at Austin, while providing a wide array of health services, charges students half the cost of a visit to the certified dietitian, a specialist in nutritional intake. This visit to the dietitian is important in a time where eating disorders and obesity have been on the rise, and without a free visit (potentially limited to one free visit) to the dietitian, students may not be aware of underlying problems or lack the resources to resolve the issues. There is only one dietitian available, and with a student body of thousands, the University of Texas at Austin needs to hire more dietitians to help with the demand or utilize the Nutrition major students in a program to alleviate this need. Please show your support for UT students' general health and well being by supporting this petition for increased funding for dietitians and nutritional healthcare at the University of Texas at Austin.
