Throughout the Fall semester of 2019, Parking Lot 80 has been under construction. This has displaced many students that are holders of the 'C' Parking Permit (the only permit available to Freshmen are 'C' Permits) to the nearby parking lot, Lot 70. In doing so, Lot 70 has become much more crowded with students and causing it to be filled up by as early as 9:00 in the morning. This is a pretty big inconvenience to many students that commute to UT. You'll find a lot of drivers circling the parking lots in search of students that are leaving, but in most cases, this process will take up to 30 minutes and sometimes even longer.

For students that don't have the time to wait around for a freed up space, they will either have to park off campus or use one of the public parking garages on campus. If you decide to park in one of the garages, you'll be paying $12 if you parked for 3-4 hours. This might not sound a lot, but for students that have the 'C' Parking Permit, it means that they paid $150 for a permit to park, just to pay an additional fee on days that they can't find a parking space.

In my opinion, this doesn't seem fair for student permit holders that are affected by construction and events. I think there should be accommodations in the form of a free pass to a parking garage nearby affected lots for permit holders.
