I am a current student of University of Sydney currently staying in Sydney. We are all aware that the recent coronavirus outbreak has affected many of us in preventing from commencing our studies in University of Sydney, we all feel sympathetic and concerned towards whom that are affected. The latest notice from the University has stated that commencement of certain degrees has been delayed and remote teaching arrangements have been reached temporarily for the first three weeks. Now, we understand, under this extraordinary circumstance, everything could be uncertain as to commencement, teaching arrangements, exams and other agenda that concern University staff and students; we also understand it is hard to balance the needs from students and staff who have different priorities that could be affected by this tragic event.

However, we want to express our irrevocably unsatisfied stance towards these arrangements for the unfair delay and remote teaching arrangements towards students who are currently in Sydney and ready to start their studies. We are aware that changes and updates could be on their way in the next few weeks, but we would like to prepare ourselves in the event that such changes or updates could bring negative outcomes upon our future and upcoming work/internship arrangements, qualification certification and others including visa renewals or applications that could affect financially and mentally.

Finally, we thank the University for the efforts in dealing with this event but we strongly urge the University and relevant personnel to consider our stance and needs
