The standard of education in the spring term of the academic year of 21/22 has been significantly impacted by UCU strikes. Whilst we appreciate the right to protest is an important one, and the importance of the cause for which the strikes are ongoing, students have suffered as a result of such strikes.

Many students have received only one subject taught undisrupted since the start of the term, whilst others feel that the strikes have caused disruption in their routine and motivation. Despite this, we have received no compensation for the missed classes due to strikes, and no support for our concerns with regards to our upcoming assessments. 

For these reasons, we are asking the university to implement a safety net policy to ensure that our grades are not impacted by the disruption caused by the UCU strike action.
