Get Cardiff USW a GP on campus

University of South Wales is an amazing University, However, the Cardiff Campus does not have a health service.

There used to be a service, however this was cancelled. When the Student Services were contacted to ask them why they've cancelled the service and what are they going to do to compensate for this cancellation. The response was that they cancelled the GP service because the students had claimed poor service and said that the provision was not great at all (staff also complained about the service provided). Further to this, it was explained that they are looking to push a nurse provision on the campus; however, they do not have a finalised schedule on this and do not know how many days a week this service will be available (it was mentioned 1 or 2 days a week). This provision most likely won't be available for a number of weeks.

For the mean time students have had no choice but to register at outside practices where it is difficult/ sometimes near impossible to get appointments; resulting in missing lectures/ valuable learning time to go to doctors. There are some cases where students have just waited until it is serious enough to go to hospital.

This is not okay. As a result many students are petitioning to the authorities of the campus to regain a health service; even if this was there a few days a week with qualified staff as soon as possible, this would transform students lives.

Please sign this petition in order to illustrate the amount of support reinstating a health service at the USW Cardiff campus has.
