The University of South Alabama's College of Nursing has made a recent decision to cut down the current test-taking log-in time window for online programs from 24 hours to 2 hours. The change will be effective Fall semester, 2019.

This change in policy presents numerous complications and hardships for the students affected. Many students struggle to balance very intricate schedules consisting of work, school, family, and extracurricular activities. Having rigid time standards threatens to further increase the complexity and difficulty of student life.

Having an inflexible time slot for test-taking affects students’ ability to work on a test day or the night before, attend clinical on a test day (would deduct 6 clinical days from the semester), and manage childcare/family life.

We, the student body, believe that honest, hardworking students should not have to suffer as a result of educational indiscretions of the very few.

We, the student body, accept the use of a larger pool of test questions, but strongly discourage any alterations made to test scheduling.

Please keep your commitment to helping the students succeed and it will pay dividends.

Keep the 24 hour test slot! Thank You!
