University of Saskatchewan: Give the students the option to be Graded on a Pass/Fail Basis

In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the university is forced to suspend all in-class lectures and convert to online classes. This drastic change has forced students to suddenly change our learning styles while dealing with the worldly consequences of the COVID-19. I am asking for the University of Saskatchewan to give the students to be graded on a pass or fail basis. This system has already been implemented by multiple Canadian Universities including the University of Toronto, McGill University, University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, University of Calgary etc.

Most students have been forced to evacuate Saskatoon to go back to their hometowns, and are facing the stress of unemployment during the summer. Moving out takes days to logistically finish, and those who are renting face the frustration of looking for someone to sublet their place in order to meet ends meet. With most students being taught to prioritize assignments with larger percentages towards their final mark, assignments that were worth 15% suddenly weighing 35% is simply unfair.

Implementing the pass/fail basis allows for fair judging when students apply for Grad School. With other universities already implementing the pass/fail system, the GPAs of their students are not being negatively affected due to uncontrollable, external factors. This puts uSask students who are trying to balance school and dealing with the consequences of this Pandemic, at a great disadvantage,
