Make USD great again!
Due to the wide and continuing spread of the COVID-19 virus and with the United States currently having 605 confirmed cases and 22 reported deaths which is increasing daily, we the students of the University of San Diego think that it is of importance for USD to NOT take drastic measures. The State of California has declared a state of emergency, it is the second state in the US that has cases of this virus. Our health is NOT our priority at this time as we are determined to succeed academically and mentally despite what is happening around the world. Furthermore, this is our opportunity to rise above the other schools and demonstrate that only the strong survive. Moreover, this is the ultimate opportunity for USD to trump the rankings and flash to the top.
We strongly OPPOSE making all our courses online. We must stand strong and united. All around the world and in the US, many schools and universities have announced that classes will be put off until further notice or changed to teaching courses online. We must not become sheep and think for ourselves. The coronavirus will diminish the stress placed on professors to create a curve. In fact, the coronavirus is the curve.
