Lower University Tuition Fees as a Result of Online Delivery - UoS
Why this petition matters
The University of Salford are expecting students of all backgrounds to pay the full £9,250 in return for one full academic year of course delivery.
The details of the delivery have not been covered, other than the fact thatwthat courses will primarily, if not all, be taught from home through a screen.
Some of issues with this are as follows:
- No face-to-face learning
- Inability to socialize and work with peers
- Challenging to receive extra explanation during lectures
- Less connection between student and tutor
- Schools facilities cannot be used: lecture halls, extra circular spaces etc.
- No opportunity for special requirements
These issues affect everyone.
The University of Salford are using techniques which the Open University use to deliver courses. How can this entitle them to charge full price, for a less than adequate delivery?
Sign this petition to make the student voice heard. Let the University of Salford know that the pay of tuition fees does not match the proposal for course delivery.
The price of tution fees should be reduced to 1/3 of the normal fee.
