University of Pacific: Keep your men's volleyball program

The Pacific men's volleyball program began more than 20 years ago helping young men have an opportunity to both study and play Division I volleyball in the NCAA. It would be a crime to take this sport away from these young men who have worked so hard to get where they are today. If you aren't aware of this, University of the Pacific is in the most premier division of men's collegiate volleyball. Oh and also volleyball is more than just a sport. It is a game of intuition. Imagination. Improvisation. But most of all, of reciprocity. Of teamwork. There is no way to freelance in volleyball. Without intuition the game is predictable. Without imagination the game cannot evolve. A game without improvisation is a game that is tedious. If there is no reciprocity you cannot learn the values of trust. If you cannot learn to trust, you cannot work as a team. Those who do not work as a team cannot be successful. Without success one cannot grow as a person. Playing volleyball is not as simple as it appears. To play volleyball is to live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBNxd1sU0u0

Letter to

Executive Assistant, Vice President for External Relations and Athletics Melinda Griffith
Please keep your men's volleyball program. We started this petition on Thursday night and were successfully able to get thousands of people to sign it. This really should open your eyes how important this program is to some people. It would be a crime to take this sport away from these young men who have worked so hard to get where they are today. You are a member of the most premier division in men's collegiate volleyball. It should be your job to help grow the game not destroy it. Oh and also, volleyball is more than just a sport.
