These unbelievably hard-working staff should not be suffering due to a situation that’s beyond their control.

I think it's disgusting - the best staff members in the department are threatened with redundancy, while they work diligently; already overwhelmed by the amount they have to do (so reducing the number of staff will make the departments dysfunctional at best), while some of the worst of the department get promoted - vile.

I’m signing to show that students, their funds and the staff can not be pushed around without reasonable and moral explanation.

It is unacceptable that our hard working staff are made redundant, none the less during a pandemic!

As a former student I remember that it was the university staff who were at the heart of my student experience. In common with many other universities, the staff have seen real term pay cuts while the vice chancellor has pocketed more money year on year.

Abolishing pure maths research will seriously damage the reputation of the maths department

In a pandemic stricken world in which students and people generally already have enough to contend with, risks to our staff members and key supporting figures are simply, cruel. I'm signing this to show my support and desire to protect the staff who need it.

Support for students, who by the way are still expected to pay their full fee amount, is paramount! They are literally our future, please do the right thing and refuse a payrise so that the help students need whilst studying is still available. This pandemic should surely have shown you that it isn't the highly paid that have kept the country going!

The university is a fraud institution profiting considerably from the students that attend in the hopes of gaining an education worthy of the £9000 they have to pay with interest every year, a rip off i say even when there isnt a pandemic
