This petition is created to postpone the exam period for University of Greenwich that is currently set for 27thApril-15thMay by two weeks, due to the current catastrophic pandemic that is severely impacting staff and students’ physical, mental and financial wellbeing.

Students at the University of Greenwich are yet to be informed about the exam timetables, which were due to be published the week commencing on the 30th March 2020. The uncertainty of the global pandemic as well as the pressure of exams coming up is causing severe stress and anxiety for students, particularly those who are meant to graduate in 2020.

We urge the university to postpone the exam period by two weeks as the current exam period leaves students no time for revision as the latest coursework deadline for the academic year is due the 28thApril, meaning there is no gap in-between coursework and exams. We, as University of Greenwich students believe the current unprecedented and challenging global situation has and is continuing to compound our existing academic pressure and stress, and will limit our abilities to achieve our greatest potential. Anxiety about the pandemic and resulting consequences, and health of family and friends is having a big impact on our physical and mental health. Therefore, we insist the University of Greenwich to postpone the exam period by two weeks, in line with the coursework extension, to give serious consideration to the aforementioned issues that will severely affect our revision capabilities and final grades.
