Stop UF’s Spring Reopening Plan

Stop UF’s Spring Reopening Plan
Why this petition matters
The University of Florida made great progress with moving to online formats for classes for the Fall 2020 semester. At the beginning of the Fall semester, COVID rates in Alachua County were about 4,000 cases. Currently that number is 6,000 cases, and has spiked significantly over the past month. Shockingly, the University of Florida intends to move toward more in-person classes - not allowing students to have the option to educate from home for all classes. This is regression at a time when we need to be vigilant about a virus that will spread in colder months. Students and faculty have been protesting reopening, even at President Fuch’s house, but that has not stopped the plan. Please sign to make the University of Florida realize that students should not be forced to engage in classes in-person to get or complete their education. Our hands should not be tied by a greedy system when we pay for the education that keeps the campus alive and running. Let the students choose to education online!
