The University of Essex has once again proven to be inept. It has been unable, after nearly 2 years of planning, to accommodate all its students graduating from 2020-2021 in its 2022 spring graduation. This is simply outrageous. The university has the exact number of graduates from 2020-2021 and could have organised accordingly e.g. more days for larger courses. There are no excuses for the university to have failed to this level, especially after having financially saved on graduations (and teaching costs) the last 2 years due to the global pandemic and having had this whole time to prepare.

It is worth to mention however that they have added new dates in July for a summer graduation but what is to say the same thing won't happen again?

Many individuals are being left without a graduation after having invested so much time and money into their degree.

This petition is a call for the University of Essex to respect its alumni by adding more days to its spring graduation, guaranteeing that everyone will be able to attend.
