UEL Psychology International and BAME Student's RIghts

The University of East London's postgraduate structure maintains a system of institutional oppression through its policies and culture. One in which BAME and non-british/western (NBW) international students are set up to fail.
UEL holds up this system through its assessment procedures, lack of guidance, facilitation, and support given to its BAME and NBW international postgraduate students. They are not providing the tools to allow a subset of students to reach their full abilities.
We are calling for an overhaul of the institutions re-sit and extenuation policy, which harshly punishes BAME & NBW students rather than presenting them with a genuine opportunity to achieve high marks. We demand accountability from our academic staff and the dissemination of correct, clear information.
As students and budding professionals, we should be supplied with the tools to succeed and continue our educations and careers. UEL's postgraduate structure is implementing discriminatory marking practices, and a as a socially conscious group we cannot stand for this any longer.
