o A Focus Group to tell DENIN staff about what students are concerned about
o Event Planners of programs for undergraduate students specifically
o Promoters of DENIN events
o Activists creating a greener campus through effective scientific communication

Why go bottled water free?
o In line with the Initiative for the Planet, the Climate Action Plan and the Path to Prominence.
o It takes over 1,000 years for plastic to degrade. Most plastic bottles end up in our landfills (Over 1.5 billion tons), as litter all over our earth, or worst yet, the ocean.
o In America, approximately 60 million plastic bottles are disposed, instead of being recycled, of every day.
o The plastic the bottles are made out of synthetic chemicals like BPA and PET which leech into the water in the bottle and into groundwater.
o The recommended eight glasses of water a day, at U.S. tap rates equals about $.49 per year; that same amount of bottled water is about $1,400.
o The EPA estimates that nearly 25 percent of all Dasani bottled water originally comes from tap water.
o The US bottled water industry consumes over 50 million barrels of oil a year, enough oil to fuel 3 million cars for one year.
o Bottled water is at least 300 times more expensive than tap water.
