The purpose of this petition is to close all campuses at the University of Central Florida (UCF). 

The coronavirus is spreading worldwide. As of March 9th, 2020, there have been over 500 confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. In particular, there are at least 12 cases in Florida. Due to the highly contagious nature of coronavirus, the last thing we want is an overcrowded campus.

However, with student enrollment close to 70,000, UCF campuses are extremely vulnerable to the virus if we continue to allow face-to-face interactions. After spring break (March 9th-March 15th), the situation may become even more dangerous because students will return to school from all over the states. 

Therefore, we petition that classes will not be conducted in persons and be switched to online mode in order to avoid bringing large groups of students together.
