The University of Cambridge have made the decision alongside Whippet bus company to redirect the vital Uni4 bus that serves Homerton College, without any discussion. It will now completely bypass Hills Road, the location of Homerton College and the Education Faculty to 'avoid traffic'. This will be a devastating decision for all the students of Homerton, a constituent college, and the largest Cambridge college, which deserves to be included within the University. The  alternative bus route is more expensive and does not go near the Sidgwick site, therefore making it harder for a large proportion of students to get to lectures and exams. Not only are the students of Homerton cut off with this change, but the Education Faculty and its many students and staff are being severed from their college roles, homes and colleagues. Without consultation, an entire university department is being abandoned. These changes will particularly hurt disabled students who relied on the buses for lectures, supervisions, and social events. The university retorts that the distance is a "few hundred yards" and a "10 minute walk", indicating how far they have missed the point. The new stops are in fact 1400 yards away and across a bridge, a huge distance to travel in a wheelchair or with mobility difficulties, and the fact this decision has been made without any compromise or discussion with the college or Education department is extremely unfair.
