Why this petition matters

Started by Daniel Emerton

Following the outbreak of COVID-19, a number of universities have had to withdraw specific courses or modules. This is mainly as a result of fewer students and reduced hours of staff members, which causes a reduction in funding. Due to this, students may not be able to get the versatility or desired outcome from their education at university.

Many students may have not made or may not make the entry requirements for their desired university, or not be able to afford to live in a specific destination. I believe that if there is a specific module they would like to sit, they should be given the opportunity to do so.

The University of Cambridge for example, has decided that all its lectures will be online until Summer 2021. I believe that if Cambridge can do this, then other universities can follow suit. This should be the catalyst to opening up the scope for anyone to access these lectures and subsequently sit the exams.
