Kaylee Bashor started this petition to Office of the Chancellor University of California San Diego and

UCSD Administration has blatantly denied the Class of 2020 an in-person graduation after previously promising us one. Let's change that.

On April 30, 2020, the Office of the Chancellor sent out an email to the entire UC San Diego community with the following statement: "UC San Diego's undergraduate and graduate programs will be recognized with virtual ceremonies. Our traditional in-person commencement ceremonies will be held at later, yet-to-be-determined dates." Today, however, UC San Diego announced that the Class of 2021 will be receiving an in-person ceremony, with no mention as to when the Class of 2020 will receive theirs. Many 2020 alumni are very upset about the issue, and feel as if the UCSD administration do not care about their past students, only their tuition money. I really hope UCSD can prove me, as well as the other members of the UCSD Class of 2020 wrong, and provide us with the in-person commencement that we deserve.
