All lectures for university should be recorded.

All lectures for university should be recorded.
As of recently, the COVID cases in Alberta have been rising exponentially. I, for one, do not feel safe attending in-person lectures with how crammed the lecture hall is. Furthermore, these conditions do not allow social distancing, as each student is closer than 6ft of distance to each other. Therefore, I wanted to propose that University of Alberta should professors record all lectures that occur in person for online viewing. This change gives a choice to students who feel unsafe attending these in-person classes without forcing them to sacrifice their marks. I propose this because even though the university offers some lectures online, not all classes have this opportunity.
Online recordings also have their benefits outside of COVID. First of all, the time it takes you to commute from home to university can be used to do something productive rather than wasting time in the bus or traffic. Another benefit that comes with online recordings is that people can watch the lectures at their own pace. For example, there must have been a time when you did not understand a concept during a lecture, and as a result, you could not understand the rest of the lecture, right? What did you do in that situation? Did you zone out? Instead of zoning out, students may replay the part they are confused about with recorded lectures or do further research to strengthen the concept. This helps the student understand the concept better and saves time studying, too, as they will not have to do this while studying.
Furthermore, having the option to watch lectures online helps provide equality among all students because it broadens accessibility to the content. It can provide everyone with the opportunity to study in an environment they desire and succeed. As a result, no student will have a disadvantage compared to their peers; every student will have an equal opportunity compared to their peers. The professor can also benefit from online recordings; since the students know they can access the lecture later, fewer students will ask the professor to repeat a concept.
Watching recorded lectures will benefit the people who learn better online without harming those who prefer going in person. It will also give an excellent backup to universities if a lockdown ever hits again, as they will be accustomed to recording lectures. In addition, the professor would become more familiar with the technology required to do so. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have an amazing day!
