Whilst sports games, Irish schools, American mid terms and sporting completions have all been halted due to the Coronavirus, for some reason our university is kept open.

Universities such as; Bristol, Lancaster and Loughborough have been given dates of closure. And I, as well as many others, feel that we should be given the same. University is a hot spot for the spread of viruses  especially for a highly contagious one such as the corona virus. Being in contact with so many people on a daily basis is a recipe for disaster. With the first confirmed case in Plymouth coming out yesterday surely now it’s the time to act.

With Easter just around the corner if we act now it would decrease the likely hood of us possibly taking back the virus to our loved ones back home if we are to be infected on our return for Easter.

Surely the health of the students should be of ultimate concern for the university and local council. I want to ask you to sign this petition so it may bring about the concern that we have as students or general public for our own health and well being to the people who need to see it.

So please sign and have your say.
