University college Birmingham have been refusing to let students out of their contracts, despite the fact that many have moved home due to Covid and wanting to be with family.

The accommodation is also disgraceful in general. There is hardly ever security on site, there has previously been a security breach where a middle aged man got into the accommodation site and gained access to a building and was threatening students with a knife. This would not have happened if the security was semi-decent. All they seem to care about is whether there are flat parties taking place, which is understandable, but they also burst into flats without knocking or any warning, meaning someone could be getting a drink in their towel after a shower and there are multiple men bursting in to check that there isn't a party happening.

UCB have also had to revoke all face to face teaching and change the courses back to online only, and if this had been done in the first place, the majority of students would not have moved into accommodation in the first place.

We are being made to pay over 5k for accommodation that we don't want to be in or that we no longer live in and that is already way too expensive for the quality even if there was no pandemic going on.

Please sign this petition to help the university students get out of their contracts and to try to convince them to reduce our tuition fees, seeing as we are pretty much teaching ourselves in these online lectures.
