[COVID] Relieve Student Rent Obligation

[COVID] Relieve Student Rent Obligation
Why this petition matters

Due to COVID, countless students are still obligated to pay rent under their lease agreement without much help from the local governments and school administrations even though they are physically not present at schools.
Many students have their leases set to the end of the academic year, May 2021, and failure to fulfill rent obligations currently held by the lease terms will eventually result in negative impacts in the future of our generations. Some students don't earn income while others earn living wages to pay the bills day by day. In addition, student loans will only amplify the burden on their shoulders.
There have already been numerous instances of landlord hostility towards students requesting either subsidization or termination. Regardless of the lease terms & conditions and laws under state governments, the burden of rent should not be passed down onto students from landlords, who must be parents before homeowners and landlords.
Chaotic time requires appropriate measures to be implemented by the leaders of respective communities. It does not make sense for students, who are not even physically present on campus, to pay homeowners' bills while they just sit back and relax with their passive incomes flooding in while the rest of the world is burning down. This petition is to provide a platform for those currently dealing with this issue.
