Every semester, Australian academics are subjected to anonymous, often insulting and abusive feedback in the form of student evaluations.  These comments are often hurtful and the satisfaction scores are used to assess the academic’s teaching performance, despite having been shown to have no validity. 

Academics, like all employees, deserve a safe work environment, free of insults and abuse.  They also deserve to have their performance assessed using valid measures.
