Why this petition matters

Started by A UTAR Student

Since practically all institutions in Malaysia allow students to choose whether or not to take the exam physically, UTAR, a renowned education organisation, neglected to address the most critical factor: the student's health. UTAR should be courteous and listen to its students' passionate voices. Students are concerned about whether the exam can be conducted in compliance with the government's standard operating procedures. To be honest, this is impossible, as UTAR lacks the resources necessary to ensure that SOP are followed by all examinees. This will result in a significant dilemma, which will very certainly result in the creation of a new Covid cluster. We'll call it the UTAR exam cluster. Students will undoubtedly take tremendous pride in being a part of the cluster if UTAR insists on holding the exam physically. Additionally, if a student tests positive during the physical exam period, they will be compelled to retake the exam the following semester, resulting in an unnecessary wait for the student. Given that taking the exam online can assist avoid all of these undesirable consequences, UTAR chooses to take the risk. We can't stop admiring management for their courage in making such a decision. PTPTN will also be terminated if the exam is rescheduled for the following semester. Is this a desirable outcome for all parties? Please listen to the student's voice, UTAR. Students are the base of UTAR.
