Sexual Assault Prevention Measures at UF

Sexual Assault Prevention Measures at UF
We demand that the University of Florida institutes more effective sexual assault prevention measures to keep our students safe and hold perpetrators accountable. This is our list of demands:
1. Increase the statute of limitations from 1 year to 4 years in UF’s Student Handbook
2. Implement mandatory sexual assault awareness and prevention training for fraternities and sororities
3. Increase Blue Light Emergency Phones on West Fraternity Drive and other lacking areas
4. Expand staffing of SANE nurses, who perform rape kits, at Shands Hospital and other local medical Emergency Rooms
5. Increase available transportation to off-campus locations by increasing the discount with Lyft and making it more accessible to students
6. Increase funding towards drink-safe technology and make them available for free in Gator Well
7. Partner with local bars and clubs to ensure the use of the “Angel Shot/Drink” and asking for “Angela” as an emergency signal for security measures and intervention and make this information accessible to students
