Why this petition matters

I have lived in United States for almost 8 years now and have never visited my home country. I have pursued and completed my MS degree in Electrical Engineering and then worked here since my graduation. It's hard to land a job in United States if you are not a US citizen or green card holder and then even harder to find an employer who can sponsor and apply green card for you. After losing my father in 2020, i could not even visit my home country due to fear of visa not getting approved on my return. Now after long 8 years, i finally got my green card and it was delivered to my mailbox by USPS but when i checked my mailbox, it was not there. I reached out to USCIS and they told me that i have to apply for a new form called i90 and pay around $500. Also, the waiting period to get a card is around 6-10 months. This is unbelievable and frustrating since you never know that it will get lost again by USPS on which you have no control. At this point i can't do anything except to file, pay and wait for i90, then wait for fingerprinting and get my passport stamped. That is temporary way of resolving the issue.

I am filing this petition so that any person who went through this can sign this petition to raise voice so that it can be listened.

Thank you !!
