American Citizenship is intended by the US Constitution to be precious.  The Rights of American Citizenship (therefore responsibilities also) are not to be infringed upon without "...due process of law...". 

And even there, infringement is to be as limited as possible.  For this reason, we call upon the consciences of our fellow American citizens and patriots.  Stand with us in this noble cause to protect our right to rehabilitate ourselves and to be fully restored our citizenship rights.

If a "due process" system exists to infringe upon a fellow American's citizenship rights, then an equal 'due process' system should also exist for restoring those precious freedoms.  If not, this will be one of the portals through which true tyranny enters our nation's future.  

As a civilized society, American citizens must be free to openly demonstrate their willingness and/or unwillingness to choose lawful behavior - to their fellow citizenry.  Not law enforcement exclusively. 

"Demonstrated Willingness", therefore, is a more accurate and precise measurement of rehabilitation.  An effective system of legal self-rehabilitation protections will function to ensure the responsibility for achieving a rehabilitation worth rewarding full restoration lay where it ought to - on the offender.

Incentivizing lawful behavior among offenders, with very real and tangible motivations like full citizenship restoration, promises to produce a dramatic reduction in repeat criminality, successful criminal operations, and public safety costs.  Not all criminals are 'repentant' and not all criminals are 'un'repentant!

We all know concepts like "hopeless criminality" (and infallible turpitude) are false.  The worst of us can choose to stop bad behavior and the best of us can choose to start.  Every moment of every day... 

Well over 50% of all crimes committed in America, the criminal doesn't get caught or gets away with it - according to Department of Justice reports.  This means over 50% of all murderers, rapists, perverts, abusers, etc. - WOULD PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK today!  Many can legally own a gun.  Work around kids and senior citizens!  Ankle bracelets don't STOP crime from being committed, they only help law enforcement prove who committed the crime!!!

We need a better system of identifying criminality, protecting our innocent citizens,  and discouraging criminal behavior before it happens.  We need a broader discussion on public safety and "Smart Justice".  We need incentivized, increased public participation.  These are the goals of the Self-Rehabilitation Protection Act Movement.
