Maya Hinkston started this petition to United States Supreme Court and

The current age of candidacy for presidency is 35 years of age. With a country filled with citizens of a lower age, the age of candidacy should be lowered to 18 years old. It would only be right to give the younger people the same representation or the same possibility of representation as older citizens, especially with young adults making up the majority of the pool of registered voters. Young adults are the future of our country but they are also here now with many bright ideas and concepts to help better further our country.

Although people may be against lowering the age because they could be suspicious of the maturity level or experience of a possible candidate, they can simply show their dissatisfaction by voting for an opposer. Lowering the age of candidacy will not put young adults in office. If it’s lowered then the people who vote for them are putting them in office. It’s all about the choice of the people. Help get us, the people, more choices so we can really implement change for our country.
