I'm writing this petition in the hopes to bring awareness and hopefully make change in workplaces regarding the LGBTQ community. Although there are laws in place for equal opportunity employment, not all jobs are upholding the integrity of these laws within the workplace. Employers have found loopholes to get out of following these laws, using things such as management religious beliefs to uphold discriminating against the LGBT community. As we all know, it is everyone's human right to believe and practice whichever religion they prefer, but why does that make it right to discriminate against a person? If we are "all created equal in the eye of the beholder" then why hinder someone from having the same opportunities because they love or identify differently? As a member of the LGBTQ community who also happens to have a family this issue is extremely personal to me.
