Jestina Victorine started this petition to United States Supreme Court and

This story is about a man who was charged and wrongfully convicted and whose constitutional rights were also violated in the city of Virginia Beach circuit court of Virginia. This man's name is Angel Luis Arroyo. In his case two individuals testified and lied in court under oath against Mr. Angel. None of the witness statements match, nor were thy creditable. There were two different descriptions of the suspected criminal, but none of the descriptions  given matched those of Mr. Angel Luis Arroyo.
However, Mr. Angel Luis Arroyo was found guilty and sentenced to 39 years in prison, due to the false statements made against him. The attorney that was to represent Mr. Arroyo in court did not represent him to the best of his ability, nor in the most sincere and truest fashion. The attorney never came to visit Mr. Arroyo during his time of incarceration, regarding his case until the night before court. In which, that visit was months later. So we (the family, friends, and loved ones) of Mr. Arroyo are asking that you please come together and help Mr. Arroyo by sharing his story. The two men who testified against Mr. Arroyo received lighter sentences than Mr. Arroyo, due to their false statements. They both served 3 years each, while Mr. Arroyo is currently serving a 39 year sentence. So we would highly appreciate it, if you would aid in bringing some type of social awareness to this situation.

Mr. Arroyo's family, friends, and loved ones, would also like for it to be known that Mr. Arroyo is not a bad person. Yes, he has made some bad decisions as a youth. But his past does not define him. Not only does it not define him, but that also does not make him guilty.

And neither is it fair and/or just for Mr.Arroyo to be convicted and serving time for a crime that he did not commit. It’s been nine long years since the wrongful conviction of Mr. Arroyo, and all he has left is to fight for his freedom, and we could really use your help as a family, community, and people. To see to it, that this conviction is taken back before the courts for clemency and/or given the chance and opportunity to a fair and just trial. If it’s not too much, we ask that you help share this story to receive some of the attention that can get us the help we need in getting him released. Our family did not have the fund at the time of angels trial to hire Angel an attorney. We want to get Angel home to us.

We thank you so much for your time and hope that you join the fight to getting Angel's Freedom.
