ABOLISH THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION

ABOLISH THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION

The “War On Drugs” has been ineffective, costly, and an admitted racial targeting tool co-sponsored by the United States government. Since 1973, MILLIONS of Black people have been targeted by the Nixon created Drug Enforcement Agency. It has since been revealed that the agency’s main goal was to target people of color and unjustly subject them to legal slavery while incarcerated. Cannabis has cost millions their lives in this system. When cannabis was legalized in later years it allowed a majority of white Americans to profit from the trade while leaving people of color in the system to rot. The “War On Drugs” has been ineffective, costly, and an admitted racial targeting tool co-sponsored by the United States government. Decriminalization is not enough. Federal legalization is not enough. We the people demand the Drug Enforcement Agency be fully abolished. We the people demand that the 2.6 BILLION DOLLAR budget be reinvested into communities directly targeted by the Nixon administration and beyond. The War on Drugs has FAILED. The United States government must admit their failures in order to move forward as a healthy collective. We the people demand the DEA be abolished.
